Someone sends you a letter. You get it from your mailbox and bring it inside. You open it, and the writer says something like this to you:

To Titus, a true son in our common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior (Titus 1.4).

How would that make you feel? It would lift my spirit! What more could I want right now than grace, mercy, and peace from the Father and from the Son? If you have those, you have everything, even if you have nothing.

Questions:

• Do you know how to lift other people up with your words?
• Who are the people in the church that are near and dear to you?
• Have you told them that they are?
