01.15.2019 – New Testament: Matt 12.15–16
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 12.1–21 on January 15, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
If Jesus had healed you of an incurable disease, would you not want others to know about it that they also might receive a healing from Him? Yet, He discouraged people from making His miracles known:
But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. Yet He warned them not to make Him known… (Matthew 12.15–16).
For one thing, He did not seek to glorify Himself, but He sought to glorify the Father and to bring people to the Father. Also, doing miracles did not top His list of priorities. He came to teach, and then to die.
Questions:
- What do you expect the Lord to do for you?
- What do you expect yourself to do for the Lord and for others?
