01.22.2019 – New Testament: Matt 15.39
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 15.21–39 on January 22, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
A multitude of people had followed Jesus for three days and they had nothing to eat. His compassion for them led Him to feed them miraculously. Once that was done, the Bible says:
And He sent away the multitude, got into the boat, and came to the region of Magdala (Matthew 15.39).
He could have continued to provide for them miraculously, but He decided not to and sent them back home. He did not take advantage of the situation, such as by using the growing numbers to attack his enemies or the Romans, but He wanted to go away and that way they could provide for their own needs. Then He simply traveled on because during His ministry the Father wanted Jesus to cover the land of Israel.
Questions:
- How long have you been following Jesus?
- Are all your needs being met?
