Jesus revealed to His twelve disciples that one of them would betray Him. Horrified at such a thought, Mark wrote what they asked:

And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, “Is it I?” And another said, “Is it I?” (Mark 14.19).

They were sorrowful that someone would betray their dear Teacher and Master, and they were sorrowful that it would be one of the 12 who would do it. It is interesting that they all asked whether it was himself. They did not seem to be looking around, wondering if one of the others would do it, no doubt because none of them had exhibited any similar behavior in the past. Therefore, they each questioned whether he himself would become weak and do it.

• Will you love Jesus until the end?
