Jesus spoke a parable because the people were expecting the kingdom of God to appear at any moment, but His parable showed the people what the king of the kingdom of God was like. In the parable some objected to a certain man as the king, and then the parable ended with these words:

“But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.”

– Luke 19.27

Most of the world does not want Jesus of Nazareth as their King, and for that, they will find a horrible surprise when they meet Him at the Judgment.

• Have you enthroned Jesus in your heart?
• If He is your King, do you follow His teachings?
