To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 23.39–56 on May 4, In the year of our Lord 2019

Atheists love to challenge the Lord, saying that if He exists, He should take away all the world’s suffering (Although at the heart of the matter, man started the suffering). One of the criminals crucified with Jesus blasphemed Him with a similar challenge,
Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
– Luke 23.39
The criminal wanted Jesus to prove His status as the Christ by meeting a demand that the criminal had made, challenging Jesus to deliver Himself and the two other men crucified with Him, although the two criminals hung there for their own sins.
People do it today. However, why should the Lord meet their challenges? Will they truly belief, if He does what they demand?
Questions:
- Do you ever challenge the Lord?
- Do you believe with all your heart that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God?
