Some people believe that Christians should not have anything to do with the Old Testament whatsoever, but Paul sought to become all things to all men, including to the Jew, and he already was a Jew.

Therefore, when a rumor floated around that he spoke against the Law, he did what he could to show that he did not have anything against the Law. He made a vow and had some other men with him,

Then Paul took the men, and the next day, having been purified with them, entered the temple to announce the expiration of the days of purification, at which time an offering should be made for each one of them.

– Acts 21.26

Paul did not do this as a matter of salvation, but he did it to break down barriers that existed between him and his Jewish brethren. However, it did not help, and they attacked him anyway.
