Parents want to see their children mature, and a good way to show maturity happens when we have wisdom, expressed by the things we say,

My son, if your heart is wise,
My heart will rejoice—indeed, I myself;
Yes, my inmost being will rejoice
When your lips speak right things.

– Proverbs 23.15–16

Perhaps your parents will also rejoice over some other things that you could do, but undoubtedly exercising wisdom, especially in your speaking will bring them pleasure.
