How should children be toward their parents? The Lord had Paul write:

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

– Colossians 3.20

He gave us parents for a reason. Therefore, we should obey them. If we believe that Jesus is Lord, we can please Him by doing what He had Paul write, that we obey our parents.
