If I had to sum up the message of the prophets in one word, it would be the word, Repent. The idea is found in this message from Ezekiel:

“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Repent, turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.’”

– Ezekiel 14.6

Repentance is turning away from sin, in this case, idolatry and other abominations, and turning back to God. Really that sums up the entire biblical message.

Questions:

• Have you turned away from your sin?
• Have you turned to God?
