New Testament: Matt 8.25
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 8 on January 9, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
Jesus and His disciples got into a boat on the Sea of Galilee. Then a storm came up and it was so bad that even the fishermen among them feared, but Matthew said that Jesus was sleeping.
Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
– Matthew 8.25
Jesus rebuked them for their fear and lack of faith. However, many people do not even call on the Lord during their troubles. Yes, the disciples should have done better, but they do better than most of the world, which refuses to acknowledge Jesus of Nazareth as the Lord of heaven and of earth.
Questions:
- When do you cry out to the Lord?
- What causes you to fear?
