Remember Prophecy

New Testament: 2Th 2.5

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Thessalonians 2 on October 19, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

By Don Ruhl

Someone led the Thessalonian Church astray by persuading them that the Second Coming of Christ had already occurred.

However, Paul reminded them that two events had to happen first, and in the first century those things had not happened, although they have now.

Then he said, “Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?” (2 Thessalonians 2.5).

If they had simply remembered the teaching of Paul, they would not have been troubled in their minds, believing that they had missed the Second Coming of Christ.

Friends, in my opinion, this explains why many are shaken or troubled in life; they have forgotten what the word of God says, but when you read and meditate in the Scriptures daily, that will go a long way toward insuring that you have a stable life.

Questions:

  • Do you read the Scriptures daily, or at least try to do so?
  • What have the Scriptures done to your thinking and to your life?
