Old Testament: Hos 13.4–6
To read the Bible in a year, read Hosea 12–14 on December 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
One of the saddest stories of the Bible is that God knew Israel, but Israel forgot God. However, this can be said of the entire world.
In Hosea 13, the Lord spoke through the prophet, revealing why Israel forgot God, saying: “Yet I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt, and you shall know no God but Me; for there is no savior besides Me. I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought. When they had pasture, they were filled; they were filled and their heart was exalted; therefore they forgot Me” (Hosea 13.4–6).
When people lack, they seek God. When they are full, they see no need for him.
Questions:
- Are you in need or are you full?
- Have you remembered God or have you forgotten him?
