Old Testament: Gen 16.13–14
To read the Bible in a year, read Genesis 15–17 on January 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

Hagar had done the right things, yet, Sarah drove her away. Hagar no doubt felt rejected and did not know what would become of her.
Therefore, the Angel of the Lord appeared to her, revealing the prosperity of her son. Moses then wrote: “Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, You–Are–the–God–Who–Sees; for she said, ‘Have I also here seen Him who sees me?’ Therefore the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; observe, it is between Kadesh and Bered” (Genesis 16.13–14).
Without Scripture, this woman learned just who our God is. He demonstrated who he was in her life, and she made that great confession of him.
When you see God working in your life, and when you see him working in Scripture, acknowledge it in some way.
Questions:
- What other names of God do you know from the Bible?
- What does he mean to you?
