A question for you to ponder

New Testament: Mark 8.37

To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 8.22–38 on March 1, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

There are thousands of questions in the Bible, and many of them are from the Lord or that he, through someone asked.

(In my Bible software, which is Accordance, I did a word search by asking it to search for this, but without the quotation marks: “.?”)

The Lord Jesus presented this question: “Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8.37).

If I give my soul away for something, I lose all the way around, because I cannot enjoy that for which I sold my soul, since I have given away myself.

The greatest thing that we possess, therefore, is our soul, and that is why it must be the emphasis of our lives.

Questions:

  • Have you tried to get something other than the Lord, that required your soul?
  • Your soul belongs to you, for it is you, but to whom does it also belong?
