The reach of God’s mercy

Old Testament: Psa 57.9–11

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 56–58 on July 29, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

David determined to praise God, and he found a reason to do so when he wrote Psalm 57, saying: “I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth” (Psalm 57.9–11).

The Lord’s mercy reaches the heavens, which means that it covers everyone, and for that David praised God, magnifying his glory above all the earth.
