Ask God to hear you

Old Testament: Psa 60.5

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 59–61 on July 30, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

We assume that God will always hear us and answer our prayers, but David spoke to God in Psalm 60 about hearing him: “That Your beloved may be delivered, save with Your right hand, and hear me” (Psalm 60.5).

We want deliverance from our troubles, and the source of deliverance is our God, but we have to ask him to save us and for him to hear us.

Questions from today’s reading and devotional:

  • Why does God hear our prayers?
  • Who gives us help against the adversary?
