New Testament: Rom 2.26
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 2 on August 1, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
The Lord wanted the Jews to be circumcised as a way of being accepted by him, whereas he did not make that requirement of the rest of the nations, unless they converted to the religion of the Jews.
However, if the uncircumcised Gentile did what was righteous, Paul said: “Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision?” (Romans 2.26).
Therefore, what makes us acceptable to the Lord is doing what he wants done. It is just that simple.
Questions from today’s reading and devotional:
- Who did Paul say was truly a Jew?
- Can you summarize your life as trying to do what is righteous?
