God rebukes our enemies

Old Testament: Psa 76.5–6

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 75–77 on August 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

Psalm 76 praises God for what he does to the enemies of his people, such as: “The stouthearted were plundered; they have sunk into their sleep; and none of the mighty men have found the use of their hands. At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep” (Psalm 76.5–6).

Just look at history. You will discover the many times that the enemy has hurt God’s people, whether ancient Israel or the modern church, but the enemy always eventually falls, and God’s people continue.

Questions:

  • What do you do when someone attacks you?
  • Do you remember to thank and to glorify God after he answers your prayer?
