Thank God for your deliverance from sin

New Testament: Rom 6.17

To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 6 on August 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

In Romans 6, Paul explained to the Roman Christians why we should not continue in sin.

He reminded them of their baptism and what happened when they were baptized, including this reference: “But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered” (Romans 6.17).

The Lord delivers us from sin when we are buried with Christ in baptism and when we arise out of the water, because we are rising with Christ and we are then set to walk with a new life.

Thank God that he provides something so simple for us to find deliverance from that which condemns for eternity!

Questions:

  • Have you been baptized?
  • Why were you baptized?
