Old Testament: Psa 94.20–23
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 93–95 on August 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
We see the wicked doing well, and we question why they are allowed to do well, and sometimes we even persuade ourselves that they shall never suffer.
However, the writer of Psalm 94 knew otherwise: “Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You? They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. But the LORD has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge. He has brought on them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; the LORD our God shall cut them off” (Psalm 94.20–23).
Regardless of what you see in the world, just keep your eyes on the Lord and you will see yourself as victorious and the wicked being cut off.
Questions from today’s reading and devotional:
- Are you tempted to do what the wicked do because you think that it is not profitable serving the Lord?
- If you have been tempted to think that way, what have you done that prevented you from doing it or what brought you back after you had done it?
