New Testament: Rom 16.5b
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 16 on August 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
As Paul began to close his letter to the Roman Christians, some of whom he already knew personally, having met them in other places, he sent greetings to them, including this saint: “Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia to Christ” (Romans 16.5).
He was evidently, either the first one converted in Achaia, part of Greece, or he was among the first ones.
What a blessed experience that would have been. Epaenetus would have obeyed the Gospel because he believed it was the truth. He did not do it because that is what everyone was dong where he was living at the time, since no one was.
Questions:
- Why did you obey the Lord?
- What keeps you obeying him?
