Pleading for God to hear our voice

Old Testament: Psa 119.145–152

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalm 119.105–176 on August 23, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

Verses 145 through 152 show the psalmist desperately wanting the Lord. Three times the psalmist confesses that he cried out to the Lord, and that he also sought the Lord’s commands.

In verses 145–147, he said: “I cry out with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD…I cry out to You; save me, and I will keep Your testimonies. I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help…”

He also spoke of keeping his “eyes awake through the night watches, that I may meditate on Your word” (v. 148).

He concluded in verse 152, that, “concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever.”

Learn to think about the Lord in the same manner, and watch what happens to your spirit.
