New Testament: 1Co 6.13
To read the Bible in a year, read First Corinthians 6 on August 24, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
Living in this world full of temptation, you and I have to come to the knowledge of why the Lord created our bodies, and it was not for fornication: “Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body” (1 Corinthians 6.13).
Obviously, we need food, but we do not need fornication.
Our Creator made our bodies for serving him and for serving one another. We have to eat so that we can serve him, and we need to marry that we might populate the earth, but sexual relationships outside of marriage violate what he wants for the human race.
Questions:
- Since God created food for the body, does that mean we can eat with no self-control?
- What foods do our bodies need?
