Old Testament: Pro 25.14
To read the Bible in a year, read Proverbs 25–27 on September 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
Some people want to sound like generous givers when the truth is they are not. Therefore, the Bible says: “Whoever falsely boasts of giving is like clouds and wind without rain” (Proverbs 25.14).
Clouds and wind look like they should be bringing rain, but as you know, they often do not.
A person who boasts his giving when he in fact has not given, is just like rainless clouds. They promise much, but when you need them, they do not come through for you.
Also, just like in the case of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5, the Lord knows what we truly do, and he will hold us accountable.
Questions:
- Are you a generous person?
- Do you believe that if you give, you will not receive in return?
