New Testament: Gal 4.17
To read the Bible in a year, read Galatians 4 on September 26, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
Some teachers had entered the churches of Galatia, persuading the churches that they, the Gentiles, must be circumscribed to be saved.
Their motive was that they were seeking to build a following, but they did it by first excluding people: “They zealously court you, but for no good; yes, they want to exclude you, that you may be zealous for them” (Galatians 4.17).
They were informing people in Galatia that they were not part of their group, because they had not been circumcised. They persuaded the Galatians that they were not saved like the circumcised group.
In that manner, they excluded the Galatians that wanted to be saved, and so they sought to be part of the circumcised group.
