New Testament: Gal 5.18
To read the Bible in a year, read Galatians 5 on September 27, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
Someone had persuaded the Galatian churches to follow the Law, but Paul argued in the letter why that was wrong.
Part of his argument was to show them to walk by the Spirit and to live by the Spirit. He also said: “But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law” (Galatians 5.18).
Yes, we can learn from the Law, and there are even commandments in the Law, such as loving your neighbor, that always apply, but the means of salvation is now found in Christ in the Spirit.
Questions from today’s reading and devotional:
- By what do you walk; that is, what guides you in your daily life?
- Do you read the whole Bible?
