New Testament: Eph 1.18–19
To read the Bible in a year, read Ephesians 1 on September 29, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

Often our prayers are merely for bodily health and safe travels, but there is so much more that we ought to pray for.
Starting at Ephesians 1.15, Paul revealed what he prayed for on behalf of the Ephesians. After saying that he asked God to give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing God, the apostle continued to pray that, “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power” (Ephesians 1.18–19).
How does that compare to your prayers for the church and your fellow Christians? Yes, pray for health and safety, but let us make praying for one another’s spiritual growth our priority.
Questions:
- What spiritual things do you mention in prayer?
- Are others praying for your spirit?
- If not, have you asked anyone to pray for your spiritual health?
