The size and power of a nation does not matter. If it opposes righteousness, it will fall. As it was said of Babylon: “For thus has the Lord said to me: ‘Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees…Babylon is fallen, is fallen! And all the carved images of her gods He has broken to the ground” (Isaiah 21.6–9). 

Therefore, do not put your trust in your nation, although you may love it dearly, but put your trust in God alone! He will never fail you, nor forsake you.
