Old Testament: Isa 51.10–11
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 50–52 on October 13, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
Isaiah sought to encourage his people, the children of Israel, and in the process he spoke to God, thus showing us how to talk to God.
He knew that the Lord God could and would help them, because as he said: “Are You not the One who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; that made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over? So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away” (Isaiah 51.10–11).
He used the Red Sea crossing to remind Israel of what our God can do, of what he is willing to do, and that we should turn to him because of his awesome power.
