New Testament: 1Th 2.17
To read the Bible in a year, read First Thessalonians 2 on October 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
Paul and his team had established the church in Thessalonica, but since they were on a preaching tour, establishing churches in Europe, they had to move on.
However, Paul wanted them to know that they truly wanted to be with the new congregation: “But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire” (1 Thessalonians 2.17).
If we truly know what it means to be in the Family of God, we would feel the same way as Paul did. We would want to see our brethren and when we are not present with them, it would make us feel that we are missing something wonderful.
