New Testament: 1Th 5.19
To read the Bible in a year, read First Thessalonians 5 on October 17, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
Paul taught the Galatian Christians that we are to walk in the Spirit, to be led by the Spirit, and to live by the Spirit (Galatians 5.16–26).
That being the case, listen to what Paul taught the Thessalonian Christians: “Do not quench the Spirit” (1 Thessalonians 5.19).
If you quench the Spirit, you will fulfill the flesh, and if you fulfill the flesh, you will not enter the kingdom of God.
If you kindle the Spirit, then you will produce the fruit of the Spirit, and an entrance into the kingdom of God will be wide open for you.
Questions:
- What does it mean to live by the Spirit?
- How are you doing in your battle against the flesh?
