Old Testament: Isa 66.7–9
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 65–66 on October 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

Do good things happen all at once? It is rare. Almost all things good have to go through a process, just like how a baby is conceived, develops, is born, and takes many years to become an adult.
So it is with the good that happens in our lives: “‘Before she was in labor, she gave birth; before her pain came, she delivered a male child. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she gave birth to her children. Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?’ says the LORD. ‘Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?’ says your God” (Isaiah 66.7–9).
What are the good things that you want in your life? Be patient, and if it is in harmony with the Lord’s will, it will take some time before you see its maturity.
Questions:
- Are all your wants materialistic?
- Do you have spiritual goals?
