New Testament: Hebrews 1.14
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 1 on November 4, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
To let us know that Jesus is above the angels, the writer of the Book of Hebrews spoke of angels in this manner: “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1.14).
They work on our behalf by doing what the Lord Jesus wants them to do. Therefore, he is over them and they exist, at least in part, to help us inherit salvation.
Questions from today’s reading and devotional:
- What do you think of angels?
- Is Jesus an angel?
