Consider the faithfulness of Jesus

New Testament: Hebrews 3.1-2

To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 3 on November 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

As the writer of the Book of Hebrews established the superiority of the Lord Jesus Christ, he said this: “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house” (Hebrews 3.1-2).

Consider these things about Christ Jesus:

  • He is our Apostle
  • He is our High Priest
  • He was faithful to God

He was an apostle because God sent him forth from heaven to the Earth, but he was (or is), a high priest because he went from the Earth to heaven to intercede for us.

Truly, he was faithful in everything that the Father wanted him to do. That means you can be saved and join him in heaven.

Questions from today’s reading and devotional:

  • What do you like about Jesus?
  • What else should we consider about Jesus?
