Why Jesus died only once

New Testament: Hebrews 9.27-28a

To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 9 on November 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024

By Don Ruhl

Why doesn’t the Lord Jesus come to Earth for every generation, living as he did before, and experiencing crucifixion, or any kind of death so that we might see what the first century saw?

Listen to what the Book of Hebrews says: “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many” (Hebrews 9.27-28a).

God put in place a law that humans only die once. Therefore, Jesus died only once. He died only one time because that single death did what needed to be done for our salvation.

This also tells us that reincarnation is not true. We only get one life on Earth. Therefore, your chance to do whatever the Lord wants you to do, is now!
