Members of the body of Christ at ancient Thyatira, were doing things they should not have done, and accepting things that they should not have accepted. 

However, not everyone there went along with the evil going through the congregation. Therefore, Jesus said to them: “Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden” (Revelation 2.24). 

We have enough burdens that we do not need to live in such a way as to create more burdens for ourselves.
