Old Testament: Hos 10.4
To read the Bible in a year, read Hosea 9–11 on December 11, In the year of our Lord Christ 2024
By Don Ruhl
The Lord used Hosea the prophet to reveal the problems of the northern kingdom of Israel, and one of those problems was this: “They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant. Thus judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field” (Hosea 10.4).
He expects us to speak truth always. Therefore, when we make an agreement, he expects us to keep our promise in that agreement.
If we do not keep our word, then judgment will come with the devastating effects of hemlock, a poisonous plant.
Questions:
- Do you keep your word?
- Do you want others to keep their word toward you?
