John had already seen a glorified Christ. 

Then the apostle saw an open door in heaven and heard a voice like a trumpet, giving this invitation: “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this” (Revelation 4.1). 

Picture yourself seeing and hearing those things! Then see yourself experiencing this, “Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne” (Revelation 4.2). 

Here is the amazing thing. If we follow Jesus, we will have an experience very close to John’s. We will see heaven and we will hear an invitation from the throne to enter heaven.
