Old Testament: Gen 4.1
To read the Bible in a year, read Genesis 3–5 on January 2, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025
By Don Ruhl
Adam and Eve finally had their first child, a boy, whom they named Cain. Of that child, Moses wrote: “Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, ‘I have acquired a man from the LORD’” (Genesis 4.1).
Although Adam begot Cain, Eve knew that ultimately Cain came from the Lord. Perhaps if more people understood this truth, they would never endorse abortion.
Questions:
- How is it that Cain came from the Lord?
- Why do you think the Bible says, “Adam knew Eve his wife,” in reference to the act that produces children?
