What Jesus came to do

New Testament: Matt 5.17

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 5.1–26 on January 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025

Unfortunately, many Christians have a negative view of the Old Testament, even saying evil things against it.

However, our Lord Jesus Christ did not see that part of the Bible in a negative way: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5.17).

He did not see it as something that needed destruction, but fulfillment, and that makes the Old Testament a good thing.

Questions:

  • How do you view the Old Testament?
  • In what ways do teachings from the Old Testament apply to Christians?
