New Testament: Matt 12.42
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 12.22–50 on January 16, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025
By Don Ruhl
You have read of the queen of Sheba leaving her home, going to Israel, and appearing before King Solomon that she might hear his wisdom.
However, Jesus left heaven, came to the earth, and many people went to hear him, but many also rejected him, even as many reject him today.
Listen to what he once said: “The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here” (Matthew 12.42).
How much easier we have it to hear the word of God, and not just part of it as the Queen of the South had, but we have all of it. Never forget what you have in the Bible.
Questions:
- Do you ever consider it a drudgery to read the word of God?
- If so, what can you do to change your way of thinking?
