New Testament: Matt 14.31
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 14.22–36 on January 20, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025

Remember that Jesus was not the only one to walk on water. Peter did too, at least for a moment. He only did it a short time, because he looked at the wind and waves, and started to sink, and called out to the Lord.
Matthew then shows us what Jesus did and said: “And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’” (Matthew 14.31).
Let us think about that question Jesus asked Peter. The Lord had given Peter every reason to believe, to have faith, but Peter doubted. He showed a common human problem.
Questions:
- Why do we doubt?
- Peter quit looking at something. What was it?
