Old Testament: Joshua 18.11–28
To read the Bible in a year, read Joshua 16–18 on March 26, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025
By Don Ruhl
The Lord promised Abraham that he would inherit the Land of Canaan through his descendants.
The Book of Joshua shows the Lord keeping that promise, and how each tribe of Israel received a specified land.
Of the tribe of Benjamin, Joshua wrote in part: “Now the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families, and the territory of their lot came out between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph. Their border on the north side began at the Jordan…This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families” (Joshua 18.11–28).
There they stayed until they sinned against the Lord without repenting and he had to remove them from the land.
Questions from today’s reading and devotional:
- What number son was Benjamin?
- What things has the Lord promised Christians?
