Old Testament: Ezra 7.10
To read the Bible in a year, read Ezra 6–8 on June 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025
By Don Ruhl
Exactly who was Ezra? What made him zealous for Israel and for the rebuilding of the temple? The Bible says, “Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel” (Ezra 7.10).
First, he prepared his heart to seek the Lord’s law.
Second, he prepared his heart to do the law of the Lord.
Third, he prepared his heart to teach the law.
Should that not, to some degree, picture all of us? What is more important in this life than seeking the things of God, living by them, and teaching what we have learned?
Questions:
- What do you do to prepare your heart?
- What are the most important things in your life?
