Marveling at the Actions of God

New Testament: Acts 2.7–8

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 2.1–13 on June 16, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025

By Don Ruhl

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the apostles and they began to speak in tongues, that is, in other languages fluently, so that those who heard were astonished, “Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, ‘Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?” (Acts 2.7–8).

The apostles then used the opportunity to speak of the wondrous works of God. Why not do the same? Someone is amazed at a good work of the church, use it to speak more about God.

Questions:

  • What good works is your congregation engaged in doing?
  • What good works are you doing?
