Endless Weeping

Jeremiah 48 spoke against the nation of Moab. The Lord wanted them to know what was coming down on them that they might repent. 

He revealed that they would experience endless weeping: “Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard; for in the Ascent of Luhith they ascend with continual weeping; for in the descent of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction” (Jeremiah 48.4-5). 

What is it like to have your nation attacked and then for it to fall completely? The horrors of such an event cannot be comprehended by us who have never gone through that experience. 

However, we can imagine it and that is what the Lord wants us to do by reading of what happened to places like Moab that we might not fall into sin.
