What pleases God

New Testament: Hebrews 13.16

To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 13 on November 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025

By Don Ruhl

God does not just want us to sacrifice to him with the praise of thanksgiving, that is only with the lips, but he wants to see our sacrifices: “But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Hebrews 13.16).

In America, we say that, “We need to put our money where our mouth is.” Speaking what is right is good, but not enough.

Show by works the things that you think are good.

Questions from today’s reading and devotional:

  • Why should we not forget to show love to strangers?
  • Do you look for ways that you can do good works and share?
