Old Testament: Isa 43.25–28
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 43–44 on October 10, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

I know that some people think that God is ready to pounce on them for the slightest infraction, but if that were true, he would have wiped us all off this earth a long time ago.
Yes, God will punish everlastingly in hell, but he does not want to do that, because he knows how awful it will be.
Therefore, he gave us the Scriptures which speak frequently of God’s desire to forgive, such as this passage: “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted.”
See his desire and wish? He is all about forgiveness. However, he went on to say: “Your first father sinned, and your mediators have transgressed against Me. Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; I will give Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches” (Isaiah 43.25–28).
I repeat: See his eagerness to forgive? However, also see his willingness to cause us to suffer for our sins, if we do not repent.
Questions:
- Do you live a life of repentance?
- What do you do about sin that you have difficulty overcoming?
