Jesus told the disciples that His language would move from figurative to plain language, and that would prompt them to do something,

“These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God” (John 16.25–27). 

Once they knew plainly the will of the Lord, they would pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, and Jesus would pray for them, because the Father loved them, and His love for them would be prompted by their love for His Son, and their belief that He had come forth from God.

Do you love Jesus? Do you believe He came forth from God? If so, get busy praying and Jesus will pray for you, and then see what wonderful things happen.
